Green Feather Books celebrates Native Heritage Month!
NDN Girls Book Club joined Green Feather Books, an Indigenous bookseller in Norman, Oklahoma, for a Native Heritage Month Block Party earlier this November! Attendees enjoyed meat pies from a local vendor, learned about the book club and resources at Green Feather, and browsed featured titles by Indigenous authors. Local writer Chelsea T. Hicks (Osage) attended and promoted Beyond the Glittering World, an anthology of writing for younger readers.
Vendors included:
Ahlazua Fine Arts
MGQ Food & Designs
Moran Sisters
Big Bow Beads
Green Feather Books sold early release copies of Beyond the Glittering World, an anthology for young adult readers, which reached the fiction bestseller list in Oklahoma!
After the event at Green Feather Books, NDN Girls Book Club traveled to Broken Arrow to give gift bags and free books to the participants of Miss Indian Oklahoma. The event took place on Northeastern Oklahoma State University’s campus.
